Jen has helped me get stronger, make healthy choices with foods and figure out portions and how much to eat. She taught me to listen to my body when I eat and she even helped me deal with tricky friendships teaching me about toxic and positive friends. After working with her for 4 months, I feel stronger, I make healthy choices and eat less and I just feel happier.

A year ago I went for my annual checkup and was told that I had high cholesterol. My doctor suggested medication, but I did not want to go that route. Instead, I contact Jen and she helped me change my diet and come up with an exercise plan. I just had my check up a year later and my cholesterol is back to normal! No meds, just support and guidance with minor lifestyle changes.
Less than a year after I was diagnosed with Lupus and Sjogren’s disease I had finally reached a point in my recovery when I knew I had to take charge of my health to help heal my body. I had done enough research to know that your diet affects every aspect of your body, but I needed someone knowledgable to guide me along the way. I emailed Jen, and asked her if she could help me along my journey to feel better. From our very first meeting, she gently led me through the daunting task (for me at the time), of weeding through food allergies, recipes, substitutions, weekly meal planning and snack attack planning. For a while my eating habits, as I knew them, turned upside down and I felt physically horrible. Jen encouraged me to keep at it and, thankfully, I did. Now I know not only what triggers a “flare up” diet wise, but also, mentally, I don’t stumble as much when it comes to my body/diet struggle. She also helped me manage the stresses of being a mother of 3 young children. Jen has a great “mind/body” approach to nutrition and I believe now it’s essential to my health. Our bodies and minds need TLC to work properly and, thanks to Jen, that reminder is part of my daily life.
Jen’s cooking workshop provided an amazing evening out for the Beverly Mother’s Club. She gave us inspiration, great recipes and ideas and even yummy, healthy cookies! It was a perfect night.

When I first thought about signing up for classes with Jen I was intimidated, scared I would not be able to do the exercises, wouldn’t be able to keep up with everyone in the class. I have now been working with Jen for over 5 months, and would not dream of stopping. I have been able to keep up with the encouragement from Jen and my classmates, excelling at things I did not think I could do. I have completed one 5K already and am signed up for two more. Jen Tolo’s boot-camp is challenging and fun! I have been through two of her 8 week sessions, meeting twice a week at the most amazing locations (all with water views)! Each week brings on new challenges and takes advantage of everything the location offers…hills, beach, baseball diamonds and basketball courts. I have to admit, I was terrified at the start of the first session. After being sedentary for ten years, I wasn’t sure I could keep up. Jen Tolo’s coaching style was exactly what I needed to stick with it! She is very deliberate when training…teaching proper form to prevent injury. Jen has an amazing ability to push me to a point that I would NEVER reach on my own…without over-doing it and risking injury. Perhaps, what I love most of all, is the comradery of the group. Everyone is so supportive and encouraging of each other…we share many laughs! Thanks to the boot-camp, I am stronger, have more energy and feel so much better mentally! It’s a blast, and I’m hooked!
After a long hiatus from exercise, and two children later, Jen Tolo’s personal training was just what I needed to get back on track.
